Brush Creek

We monitor a 300 foot segment of Brush Creek in Midtown Kansas City, upstream from the Plaza. (GPS coordinates 39°02'03.5"N 94°36'09.3"W)

This site is impacted by urban runoff and storm sewers. The creek is bordered on both sides by a multilane arterial road, Ward Parkway.

It is downstream from a country club, so our stream cleanups always gather a large number of golf balls.

We use a combination of biological and chemical monitoring to gauge the health of the stream.
